The Harkins Theater is the relatively newest movie theater complex built in OKC. It is located in the Bricktown area of Oklahoma City. The way that it is located right off of the riverwalk makes it very conveniently connected to all of the other establishments located along the riverwalk. The neon lights that line the building give it a very retro feel to it as you would expect from a movie theater. With its large open front, the building is very inviting to stand in front of whether or not you are buying a ticket for a movie. The fact that it is roofed and has heaters installed make it even more comforting especially during the winter.

Myriad Botanical Gardens - Mark Nakmali Post 11

The cylindrical shape of this building spanning the pond underneath it is absolutely stunning. The clear windows shine when the suns hits it just right, appropriately earning its name "the Crystal Bridge." The fact that the windows cover nearly the entire structure not only gives the building a crystal look, but it is also perfect for use as a greenhouse, which is exactly what the building is used for. It hosts many different types of exotic plants and is a great place to take a date. Putting multicolored lights in it dramatically increases the coolness factor during the night.

The Oil Center - Mark Nakmali Post 10

This pair of buildings is located just north of northwest expressway and 53rd street. Normally, a building like this would look pretty normal if it were by itself, but because of the fact that there are two exact copies of this building standing next to each other causes it to stand out. The maroon lines going down the middle of both of them look like racing stripes. It is a very simple design of the building but it definitely stands out. Admittedly, I also use these buildings as a landmark for where to turn when driving to my friend's house.

Downtown Library OKC - Mark Nakmali Post 9

When I was still young, I loved going to the library to read books. Admittedly, they were mostly comic books but at least I was reading! I normally went to the Belle Isle Library, but when my mother told me that they made a new (at the time) library downtown, I was very excited to go! The first thing that struck me was the very modern looking shape of the building. It was like stepping into a library of the future. It was very inviting to walk into the circular front lobby area. Because the room extended to the roof of the building, it made the room huge and gave a very grand entrance feeling to it. I continued to come to this library quite often as I went through high school.

Maybe it is because I am so used to our small and humble Will Rogers Airport, but this airport is HUGE! The entire structure of the airport is cylindrical in shape and, aside for the flat floor, the inside of the building maintains that curved shape all the way up to the ceiling. Even all of the windows are curved glass. It is amazing to walk through. Everything is kept very well lit within the building and everything appears an elegant white. The fact that it is well lit also makes the building look amazing from the outside during the night. This airport does a great job at giving a first impression of Thailand to people who are traveling there for the first time.

The Grand Palace Thailand - Mark Nakmali Post 7

This is the Grand Palace that is located in Bangkok, Thailand. In Thailand there is still a monarchy and everybody has great respect towards their king. They show this in the huge amount of gold used in the roofing and decorations of the buildings. There are elaborate patterns entwined with gold as well as statues made completely of gold. Parts of it are open to the public and it is a huge tourist attraction. It is truly a way to take in the culture of Thailand by seeing the asian temple-like shapes of the buildings as well as taking in the history that comes with the palace. It is almost surreal to be walking with so much gold around!

Sejal Patel #12 - Georgia Aquarium

This is the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. It is supposedly the largest aquarium in America. I went here in the summer and when I saw the outside of the building, I thought it looked kind of like a boat. Maybe it is supposed to be one but I'm not sure. I still like the structure of it because it is different from other aquariums I have been to. It was a good experience being able to go and explore the biggest aquarium in the nation.
