The
Citigroup Center, built in 1977 rests in New York City and has a strikingly
unique style that distinguishes itself from the rest. Its base sits on a
stilt-style floor, and the top section of the building breaks from the
midsection of the building at a perfect 45 degree angle. When thinking of this
building, I think of precision. I think to myself, “What if they finished this
building and made some minor mistakes at the base?” In the case of this
building specifically, it would be catastrophic. However, the Citigroup Center
has remained a national landmark. When visiting, it even a bit nerve-racking to
walk under for the first time because of the stilts that you are forced to
trust.
