Sam Smith - 10
I was stunned when I first saw the St. Louis Arch. My nine-year-old mind couldn't comprehend a building with a bend. I had grown up where all the elevators went up and down, but this one went sideways! I'm sure my parents immediately regretted taking me to the top, because once I realized that the building swayed I was uncontrollable. Not because I was afraid, but because I wanted to make it sway more! I kept running from one side to the other treating the building like a swing. Finally, my dad started acting like he was off balance from how much I was making the building sway (which in reality was none) and I just beamed until my cheeks hurt.
