The Myriad Gardens will always represent escape for me, but not in some granola crunching nature way. I grew up in rural Oklahoma - the gardens are not nature. To me, Myriad Gardens represent escape because every year in grade school my class would take a bus ride up to the gardens for a day. It always coincided with the craft fair, but none of us ever had any money, so we would just roll down hills and walk around the pond pointing out fish. Even now, ten years since I've been to the Myriad Gardens (I don't know why it's been so long) I can tell you which hill is the best to roll down.
