The houses of Parliament for the UK was built in 1840 by Charles Barry. When I visited London a few years back I went with a friend of mine. He has always been interested in different countries political systems. This was the place that he want to see most. The building was beautiful. It seemed as if the building was more castle like than governing building. It had rooms that had no other purpose than to look intricate. I am glad that I got to see it.
