Matt Callan Blog 8

The Statue of Liberty is the building of my choice for this week. While I have been to New York many times I have never actually been inside the Statue of Liberty. I have however been on the ferry multiple times that passes by. The statue itself opened October 28, 1886 and was designed by the artist Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. I found it interesting that the actual height of the statue is 305 feet tall. The material in which the statue is made of includes copper, iron, and steel. One day in the near future I hope to actually go onto Liberty Island and actually go inside the statue and be able to say that I've not only seen it but have actually been inside.
