Park Place Hotel - Grant Inman Post 11
Above is the Park Place hotel in Traverse City, MI. I have fond memories of Traverse City from when I was 15 years old and worked at a nearby camp, in Lake Ann. Traverse City was about 30 minutes away from us and during the weekend we would travel here to visit the beach and have fun. During the summer, the National Cherry Festival is held in Traverse City to celebrate the huge local economy of cherry's in Northern Michigan. Around 70% of the nations cherries are grown in Michigan. Walking around during the festival you can sample different types of cherries, pies, and snacks from all around the area. I remember visiting Traverse City with my family and staying in the Park Place hotel while I lived in this area. I believe that hotels are unique feature of architecture. They offer the peace and seclusion of home, but give the user the ability to meet others, engage the area around, and enjoy the town for what it has to offer. The hotel is close to the beach and all the main attractions of the city.
