This is a windmill outside of Amsterdam. These structures are interesting to look at and very functional. They were used in areas that didn't have as much water as other places and they powered grain mills and other things like that. I wish I had been able to get inside and see the inter workings, but the outside was very cool. The top of the building is able to be rotated to adjust for changing wind directions. The first use of a wind driven mill was documented in the first century AD so this technology is ancient and it's amazing that we still use the same sort of technology today.
