The Taipei 101 building was a structure that stood out in my
mind since its unique shape and beautiful exterior. Upon further research I found that it is also
one of the tallest buildings on earth! This all together made for a very influential
building. For a building to be this unique and esthetically pleasing, while
being one of the tallest buildings in the world, and structurally maintaining
is quite a impressive feat. Dealing with the threats from earthquakes and
typhoons would seem to be an issue that would cause a designer to design “ugly”
for the structural safety, however the designers here have done an incredible
job.
