The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island in Michigan is a unique trip destination. Mackinaw Island is a famous vacation area in Michigan and is visited from people all around the world for its history, beautiful Victorian era architecture, and food. The island is only accessible by ferry, or in the winter, you can travel across the frozen ice on a snowmobile to arrive at the destination. On the island itself, there are no vehicles allowed. Only horses and carriages are used for transportation. The history of the island has been preserved over the years from when it became a popular destination in Northern Michigan because of the rapidly expanding logging industry in the 1800s. The island is known extremely well for its fantastic fudge, and unique dining experiences. If you ever visit Michigan, make sure you stop by this beautiful location!
