This is Vakil Bazar, it is located in the historical central of Shiraz in the southern part of Iran. It was built as a trade center in 11th century Iran by Buwayhids, Atabaks of Fars and later on renamed after Karim Khan Zand F. Vakil. The bazar building has a very high celling with many windows for air circulation because it is designed to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Vakil bazar has always been one of my favorite places to go since I was very young. This Bazar is made of hundreds of stores with a variety of products such as craft, spices, herbs, rugs, antiques, and frames. The valuable merchandise makes this place very unique. My mom would always buy all her herbs, spices, and saffron from here. Even now, every time I visit this place, mixtures of the fresh air with spices and herbs gives a magical aroma which is not comparable with any other bazars. Vakil Bazar also has a functional pool with marble designs and many beautiful mosques and historical buildings which makes you feel like you are going back to the time. Another interesting thing about this place is that at the end of this bazar they have a little ice cream shop which serves many delicious sweets along with ice cream. I think this Bazar serves as a memorable building and adventure which represents Iranian culture. It reminds me of being surrounded with family, and the culture I grew up in.  Tahereh Dinpajooh
