Crescent Hotel by Brent Wilkins (Blog Nine)

Commissioned by the Eureka Springs Improvement Company and the Frisco Railroad, and designed by Isaac Taylor, they Crescent Hotel is the crown jewel of the resort town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Originally opening as a hotel in 1886, the building has also been used as a women’s college, as junior college, and a cancer hospital and health spa. Apart from its splendor, the building is famed for its consideration as America’s most haunted hotel.

I have visited the Crescent many times over the years, and can attest to its magnificence. This truly is a gem hidden in the scenic Ozark Mountains of western Arkansas. As far as the haunted aspect, I have searched the building over and have yet to experience anything that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
