Seth Thomas - ARCH 3013 - Blog #4

The Shanghai Tower is located in China. It is the world’s second tallest building and is the most sustainably advanced skyscraper in the world. The elegant shape, while aesthetically pleasing, serves a more practical application: it works with the wind allowing the building to be unusually light. One third of the interior will consist of public green space, which massively reduces the building carbon footprint compared to other buildings of similar scale.

It’s incredible looking back how much technology has advanced in the past 20 years. Buildings are not only getting taller but more sustainable which is important in this changing climate. Very awesome building which is also environmentally friendly.
