Seth Thomas - ARCH 3013 - Blog #6

The Cubic Houses, located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, were designed by Piet Blom in the 1970s. The cubes sit tilted on a hexagonal pole, made up of concrete floors, concrete pillars and wooden framing on top of a pedestrian bridge. These houses are divided into three levels: lower level area used as the living room, middle level are the sleeping and bathing area, and top level are spare bedroom/living area.

These unique houses stuck out to me because they were built on top of a pedestrian bridge. I thought it was pretty cool how he not only made an ordinary bridge look more aesthetically pleasing, but also function to live in.
