Belfry of Bruges
Post 9
The Belfry of Bruges, Belgium had an impact on me because its architecture and the architecture of the surrounding town transported me to the middle ages. The town is unique in that aspect and I highly recommend it to anyone making a trip to Europe. Construction on the belfry began in the thirteenth century and has had additions added as well as taken away by accidental fires. While climbing the extremely tight spiral staircase to the top of the tower one of the other attractions is the genius engineering of the clock and bells.
