The Empire State building in New York City has always been one of my favorite structures in the US. The building was completed in 1931 and uses what is called an Art Deco style. The most fascinating aspect of the building is the fact it was built long before a lot of modern technology had become available that makes the construction and design of tall buildings very seamless. I believe it represents an American attitude to surpass expectations and innovate. In 2007, I had the opportunity to visit this building and stand on the scenic overlook. The view of New York City from the top is truly unique and I would encourage anyone traveling to the city to stop by and soak this wonderful experience in.
