This is the great Minaret of Samarra Mosque in Iraq. It it very large and it has stairs on the spirals that you can use to go all the way to the top. It has no rails so it is a little scary to go up to the top. I have been there only once when I was six years old on a family trip. I remember the structure being enormous and beautiful. I wanted to go up to the top but I was too scared and only made it half way. I still wished I was brave enough to go to the top. I remember thinking it was very beautiful and that I wish I lived in that area so I can see this structure every day. It was completed in the year 851 and the architect is unknown.
