Mariam Edwar- Burj AlArab (#2)

I have always been interested in buildings since I was a child. Visiting this building changed how I looked at buildings. It is as a sail boat emerging from the sea. it has a perfect design for it's location. It  definitely represents an iconic statement for Dubai. It also stands on an artificial island. The area's land is mostly sand which means it is very hard to construct on and its foundation is almost whole another building by itself in the ground. it is basically steel shafts that are drilled into the seabed. This is one of the buildings that amazed me and assured to me that I should pursue a degree in Architectural Engineering. the architects were Tom Wright and Carlos Ott.
