Zac Hardina #3

The incredible building shown is the Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea. It stands as one of the tallest buildings in the world, and has a total internal volume of 3.9 million square feet spread over 105 floors. Originally planned as a luxury hotel to attract tourism into North Korea, the building has spent most of its life abandoned. Construction started in 1987, and has been stopped on multiple occasions due to a lack of funds and concerns of safety due to poor materials. In 2012 the glass siding was finally placed on the exterior of the building, but the building remains a husk with the interior devoid of plumbing, electricity, and furnishings. I find the building to be very beautiful using proportions close to those in the golden ratio. It stands as a giant three legged glass pyramid jutting out from the Earth, easily eclipsing the height of all other buildings in the town it resides.
