This picture is once again from my travels this summer. In the foreground, or forewater if you will, we have some residential buildings along the canal. In the background is the Belfry of Bruges, in the city of Bruges, Belgium. The belfry was added to the market square in Bruges in about the year 1240 and was used as a municipal building as well as a watch tower to spot fires and things of that nature. I really loved this city because it was so old and the magnificent buildings, bridges and canals. It's a quiet little city sometimes called the Venice of the West. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend spending the day there.
