Brandon Mansur #2 Bavinger House
The Bavinger House was built in Norman Oklahoma in 1955 by Nancy and Eugene Bavinger and designed by architect Bruce Goff. The house is made of a 96 foot long logarithmically curved spiral wall made out of local sandstone and glass cullet wrapped around an old oil field pipe. It was very natural yet modern combining the stonework and small indoor ponds with retro furniture and floating open rooms. In 2011 a windstorm broke the center mast and the building began to deteriorate rapidly. I have always been intrigued by this building as it was a working piece of art that brought a little curiosity and wonder into this world and I am very sad I did not get to experience it.
