Angelina Harrison Blog Post 3
This beautiful building is the Ely Cathedral, located in the town of Cambridgeshire, England. I was able to visit this
building while studying gothic architecture at the University of Cambridge. The
original building was completed in 1189, with several additions made throughout
its history. There is a singular Octagon in the center of the cathedral, which
rises to a height of 170 feet and 74 feet wide. The upper part of the octagon
is adorned with magnificent Victorian paintings. I greatly enjoyed my visit to the Ely Cathedral
and the town of Cambridgeshire.
