The Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, California is the tallest skyscraper in the S.F. skyline.  It is no longer the headquarters of the Transamerica Corporation, but it is still associated with the company and is depicted in the company's logo.  Designed by architect William Pereira, in 1972, it was the eighth tallest building in the world at the time.  I walked around this building when I went to California a year and a half ago.  It definitely left an impression on me, as the building is so tall and it has a pointed tip.
